About Us
Dhol Safa Sahnai is a traditional percussion instrument from the Indian subcontinent. It is a double-headed drum, typically made of wood and leather, and is played using a pair of wooden sticks. Dhol performers are called dhol wale. Dhol players are a common sight at Indian weddings and festivals, and often perform in groups called dhol tasha. They use their dhols to create a lively, upbeat rhythm that encourages people to dance and celebrate. Dhol players are also hired for corporate events, political rallies, and other occasions. The dhol is often accompanied by other instruments like the tabla, dholak and various Indian folk instruments.
Our Shehnai is a traditional instrument commonly played during Indian wedding ceremonies, particularly in North India. It is believed to bring good luck and prosperity to the newlyweds. The Shehnai is often played at the start of the wedding ceremony, as the bride’s family and the groom’s family come together, and also during the Baraat, the groom’s wedding procession. It is also played at the time of the Jaimala ceremony, when the bride and groom exchange flower garlands. The Shehnai player is accompanied by other musicians playing the dhol and the dholak, creating a festive and upbeat atmosphere. The Shehnai is also played during the reception and other marriage functions. It is believed that the sweet and soulful sound of the Shehnai creates a auspicious atmosphere and adds to the celebratory mood of the occasion.
